1. Who is YEG Home Buyers?

YEG Home Buyers is a team of Edmonton locals who purchase, renovate, and bring life back to houses all over the Greater Edmonton area. The company is run by John, who purchased and renovated his first house (a half duplex in Fort Saskatchewan) in 2018, and has been hard at work around Edmonton ever since. We also work with an excellent team of other local Home Buyers, Developers, and Realtors in order to connect you with the best professionals if we are not the right fit.

2. How Does Your Process Work?

Out of all of the things we get asked, this is the most common. Let’s break it down:

  1. Once you Submit Our Form, John will call you to get more information about your Edmonton house and discuss the options.
  2. We do research on your home to determine a fair cash offer. In most cases we can give you ballpark numbers over the phone, and then put together an appointment to see the house.
  3. During the appointment (which is usually an hour or less) we’ll take a look at the house, and write up an offer with you. This offer is free, no obligation, and no pressure – we want to make sure that you are confident that we are the right choice for you. So if you aren’t ready to make a decision at that time, we will just leave the offer with you and you can reach back out in a few days once you make your decision.

3. How do you determine the price to offer on my house?

Our process is very straightforward. We look at the location of your Edmonton house, what repairs are needed, the current condition of the house, and values of comparable houses sold in the neighbourhood recently. By doing this we figure out what we can sell or rent the home out for in the future once we have upgraded it, and work backwards from this to arrive at a fair price that works for us and works for you too.

4. I’m not desperate to sell or even in a hurry! Is a house buying company right for me?

Surprisingly, most sellers that sell to “we buy houses” businesses are not desperate to sell, or trying to avoid foreclosure. 6. Is A “We Buy Houses” Company Right For Me?

The genuine answer is… maybe! We are a tremendous fit for homeowners who want convenience, simplicity, and a worry free house sale. This being said, there ARE situations where you will be better served by listing your house with an Edmonton real estate agent, or even working with another local home buying business. For example maybe you have a very central home with a small square footage, which could be a great fit for selling to an infill builder or developer – in that case we would probably refer you to a local developer who would be a better fit to buy your Edmonton house.
